let's get this party started

yeah!!! my first post!! i've been working hard on getting this up and going...so here i am! i have actually been blogging for sometime now. i have a garden blog you can check out HERE. i decided it was time to start a design blog. makes sense considering i'm an interior designer!!

for christmas my brother and i bought my parents a flat screen tv. at the time they didn't have a place to put it, so i had to design a space. before they just had this small cabinet...which looked really lonesome to me. there was no tv in this room...partially because that cabinet was really small and you wouldn't have been able to see it by the time you sat down!

sad huh?

so i came up with this. this is the cabinet elevations that i sent to the millwork (cabinet maker) guy. mom wanted lots of storage and bookshelves. there are cabinets on the lower portion of the unit, then bookshelves on the right and left sides. the center portion houses the tv. the doors pullout and slide back into the cabinet.

so you want to see what it looks like?

sorry this pic is a little crooked, but i think it looks pretty dang good! much better than the little cabinet that was there.

it makes the living room feel much cozier

now they can sit around and watch ballgames and enjoy movies on their flat screen!

what do ya'll think of the new entertainment cabinet?

btw...i'm writing in lowercase on purpose ;-)
since dirt is all lowercase i thought i would stick with that when blogging

  3. I love it sweetie, it looks great. I especially love the way the doors tuck in 'round the TV. So many have the doors that just open are are stickin' out in the way.

    The blog look fantastic!

God bless and enjoy your day sweetie!!! :o)

    2. Hi! I had to put my comment under a REPLY because I don't have a comment box. I've noticed that Firefox is no longer showing me a comment box on blogs that don't have the pop-up style comments. Anyway... nice job on the cabinets and good luck with your new blog!

  7. hey, i found somebody else who doesn't use capitals! nice cabinet design that really makes the room. vintage glass knobs and some garland onlays would look good with the white also.

    love vintage roses - facebook
